Ala Moana Beach Park Introduction

Ala Moana Beach Park

The Ala Moana Beach had initially just been a wetland back in the 1920's. The city itself was not developed at all. The beach itself came into being only when the Dillingham Dredging Company owner decided to dump all the dredged earth sand at the park in the 1950's. So you can say that the Ala Moana Beach is actually man made.

The western end of the Ala Moana Beach Park has some coral reefs and so swimmers have to be a little cautious about stepping on reef stones while going to swim. If you wish to avoid the corals, the eastern side of the beach is free from coral reef and stones.

The Ala Moana Beach Park consists of large grassy lands complete with banyan and palm trees. There are picnic tables, restaurants, showers, restrooms, tennis courts and a music pavilion at the Ala Moana Beach Park. People come her by hordes with their families to sun bathe, fish, sleep, eat, jog, picnic and basically just have the time of their lives.
